Background

In 2023, Denny's embarked on a transformative journey to revitalize its brand, with a clear objective of captivating a younger audience while preserving the essence of its historical roots. To achieve this, Denny's recognized the need for a seamless integration of their reimagined brand into existing digital and mobile platforms, accompanied by an enhanced user experience (UX) that catered to both loyal patrons and new users. 

Problem

The challenge at hand was to effectively engage Dennyā€™s audience by taking their ā€˜offersā€™ system a step further to introduce reward challenges.

User Check-In

First, we needed to give the user the ability to check-in when dining in person so they could track their progress both on and offline.

Opt into rewards challenge

Next, we needed to design a function that allowed the user to opt into a challenge.

Then we gave the user the ability to track their challenge progress. It was also important to disable the option to opt into any other challenges on the app (only one challenge allowed at a time!)

Finally, we designed the function for both a successful challenge and the failure of completion.
